Day 1
Day 1 - Airport - Pinnawala - Kandy

Airport- Pinnawala- Kandy

Welcome to the Colombo Airport. Proceed to Kandy enroute Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Approx. 45 kms from Colombo, on the Colombo – Kandy road is Pinnawala, an elephant orphanage which was started in 1975 to take care of the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants now are more than 65 including some Baby Elephants from various parts of the world. They also have more than 25 babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme. The advised time to visit is the feeding time from 09.30-10.00 AM and 1.30-2.00 PM and the bathing time from 10,00-10.30 AM and 2.00-2.30 PM when all the elephants stroll to the river close by.

Day 2

Kandy

Today we enjoy a city tour of Kandy wit a visit to Royal Botanical Gardens
Located in147 acres it was started in 1374 as a pleasure garden by the King’s of Kandy. It is home to more than 5000 species of tree and plants. Both endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice garden and Orchid House are very popular with Tourists.

Kandy is in Central Sri Lanka and the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings that was finally fell to the British empire in 1815. Kandy gives a view of Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.

From 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.

Day 2 - Kandy

Kandy- Bentota

Transfer from Kandy to Bentota. Bentota is a beautiful and calm Coastal town of Sri Lanka. Bentota is nothing like your usual holiday destination, and the beaches here are filled clear golden sands along the mighty Indian Ocean. Apart from stunning views of the sea, you can enjoy some water sports at Bentota beach. It is lined with palm trees and there are also some high-end resorts here which offer a exciting beach holiday experience.

Day 4

Bentota

Today visit the turtle hatchery and enjoy a boat ride in Mangrove.

Turtle Hatchery

The “Sea Turtle Farm & Hatchery” is a non – profitable organization which works for the survival of Sea Turtles for the next generation. In past, due to the cruel activities of humans , the Turtles are facing danger of extinction. It is our duty to take action to save the turtles from extinction for the sake of our future generation. Regarding this they started to save Sea Turtles in 1986 and up to now have succeeded to attain the goal.

Mangrove Boat ride in Madu River

Madu River also known as Madu Ganga is one of the fascinating creations of nature off South West coast in Balapitiya. Madu Ganga is a lagoon filled with hundreds of islands providing setting for a well spent holiday. It may be one of the last remaining rivers of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.

Day 4 - Bentota

Bentota- Colombo

We proceed to Colombo to enjoy a city tour.

Colombo is the main entry point for most of the travellers. We drive you through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas along with the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. It is no longer the sprawling city you have to reach the southern beaches. Now it is a destination worthy in its own right.

Visit Fort, one of the former British administration center along with military garrison, Sea Street along with the Goldsmith’s quarters in the centre of Pettah, the Bazaar area. You can also visit a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, along with the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal from 1749.

Day 6

Colombo- Airport

We end our tour today and head home with the sweet memories of the Island nation.
